We need New Plans
for Electrified Lives
in our Changing Climate

Let’s do it together.

The global energy transition is underway. After 700,000 years of setting things on fire, our electric future is safer, cleaner, and healthier.

Here are 3 ideas to understand + 5 actions to catalyze our electric future.

Big Idea #1

Cozy Up Your Building

For you: Up your comfort and cut your costs by eliminating pain points like cold spots and drafts.

For our livable planet: Weatherized homes, with insulation and air sealing, use less energy, which makes our job of getting clean energy to everyone everywhere easier.

Big Idea #2

Green Up Your Supply

For you: Buy clean energy. Or, generate your own with solar panels (then use it, store it, and sell it!). Making your own energy can keep your power on when the grid goes down.

For our livable planet: Making clean energy where it’s used reduces the need for new long distance transmission lines.

Big Idea #3

Electrify Everything

For you: Cheaper to operate as well as healthier and safer for everyone. Quieter too! Replacing 5 key machines with electric ones does most of the work (see below).

For our livable planet: Electrified cars, appliances and systems are more efficient and powered by a grid that gets greener every day.

5 Commitments

for an electrified homestead

#1 My next car is an EV

#2 My next stove is induction

#3 My next heating/cooling system is a heat pump

#4 My next water heater is a heat pump

#5 My next clothes dryer is a heat pump

Do these and the most important work is done!

Avoid emergency decisions.

Replace them before they fail.

If not, you know when they fail, right?

In the middle of the night!

just before the cold snap or heat wave!

Does it really matter what I do? YES!

It’s time for individuals to join in the global energy transition. At least 42% of emissions in the US come from our homes & personal transportation. Systems and policy changes are underway at both the state and federal level to address our fossil dependency in our big energy systems. Other countries, cities, and companies are in action too. Every effort at every level is needed. Personal emissions matter too. We’ve learned that our climate can respond positively more quickly than we thought, so it’s high time to get into action!

All hands on deck, especially ours!

The United States has contributed 24% of all emissions that clog up the climate for the whole world. People and countries who have contributed the least to global emissions are already bearing the worst of the changes we’ve seen.

That’s not fair. We can do our part. We can and should lead on the response. We have the resources and the tools.

When we act now it makes it easier for others to take action after us as early buyers of heat pumps, EVs, solar panels, and batteries help to drive down the price for others.

Align your home and vehicle with your values and care for the world.
